HISTORY OF THE CLUB
The Bemantes FC was originated as a society in 1975. Mr José Eive Vidal took the chair in reply for the worries of a group of neighbours of Bemantes who already went in for football but not in a federated way.
Right from the beginning it counted on twenty members but this number was increasing until nowadays it counts on one hundred and thirty members.
Previously, in 1974, it was built the pitch called “A Abilleira” thanks to the altruism of the neighbours of Bemantes, some of them handed over their lands and others worked for free in its construction. They got the Bemantes FC to have a sport ground of its own where this team could contend for its matches as the local football team.
This club has traditionally played in the 3rd Regional Division and has changed several times by mixing the 3rd Group of “As Mariñas” with the 4th one of “A Montaña”. Nowadays it plays in the 3rd Group of “As Mariñas” but they have in view the team goes up to the 6th group of “A Ría” next season 2004/ 2005.
The current board of management, after taking charge of the team in the 2000/ 2001 season when it went through one of its worst periods, tries to get the team up-to-date and the reappearance of football in our locality.

ACTIVITIES THAT ARE DEVELOPED
The main philosophy of the activities the Bemantes FC develops along the year is to create a place where both its members and its sympathizers can go in for sport and more specifically play football.
The Bemantes FC carries out this philosophy through three main sources along the year:
The first source is the support and access to competition of its football teams of amateur-rank, which at present plays in the 3rd Group of the 3rd Regional Division of As Mariñas-A Coruña zone, and of Veterans that plays in the 3rd Veteran Division.

The second one is the organization of sports competitions at regional level such as the Indoor Soccer Bemantes Trophy and the San Roque Football Cup that take place annually in our locality, besides other which are more local like the organization of friendly matches among neighbours or parishes during festivals.

The third one is the dissemination of sport through the culture by organizing several activities like exhibitions of photographs, games for kids and the support to other similar societies of this region in the activities they carry out.
